Anmerkung: Bis jetzt ist die wahre Geschichte über John Lennons Kindheit noch nie so erzählt worden – sagt der Verlag. Erzählt wurde die Geschichte schon einmal, sogar von JULIA BAIRD in ihrem ersten Buch MY BROTHER JOHN von 1988.

In dem 2007er Buch wird pointierter berichtet, dass JOHN in seiner Jugend von sehr verschiedenen, starken, eigensinnigen und egoistischen Frauen umgeben war. Im Alter von fünf Jahren wurde JOHN von seiner Mutter in die Obhut deren Schwester MIMI SMITH übergeben. Später besuchte JOHN dann häufig seine Mutter und deren andere Schwestern. Sie gaben ihm die Lebhaftigkeit, Freiheit und Liebe, die er suchte. Und sie erlaubten ihm, seine musikalischen Talente zu entwickeln. Der tragische Tod von JOHNs Mutter, als er 17 war, veränderte sein Leben nachhaltig.

Das Buch IMAGINE THIS stellt John Lennons Jugendjahre als Quelle für seine emotionale Zerbrechlichkeit und seines musikalischen Genies dar. Interessant sind auf jeden Fall die 32 Schwarzweiß-Fotos, von denen etwa 10 relativ unbekannt sind.
